Your questions,
before you apply
Essential answers to prepare for your journey with ChronoBridge.
These answers help you prepare your application. Details marked as pending on the project pages still need confirmation. The official vacancy and host institution provide the final application and employment requirements.
Choosing a project
Do all projects involve laboratory work?
No. The balance of laboratory work and computer-based research differs between projects. Some focus strongly on data analysis and modelling; others involve cells, tissues or animal models. Read the project description and ask the supervisor about the daily work.

You are not required to have a previous experience in chronobiology specificaly, but a background in Biology is strongly recommanded. Relevant skills and motivation matter, and training is provided. Each vacancy will specify which skills are required before you start.
Can I apply to more than one project?
You can apply to multiple DC, you will need to specify which ones in your application form. Follow each vacancy’s instructions and tailor your motivation to each project.
Eligibility
Can I apply regardless of my nationality?
Yes. The Apply page welcomes candidates of any nationality who meet the eligibility and doctoral admission requirements. Immigration requirements are checked separately.
What degree do I need?
You must meet the admission requirements of the doctoral school associated with your position. The required degree is a Master's Degree or equivalent; field and supporting documents will be specified by the host institution.

How does the mobility rule work?
You must not have lived or carried out your main activity, such as work or studies, in the recruiting country for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately before recruitment. The check uses your first day of employment, not the application deadline. The recruiting institution will assess your history and any applicable exceptions.
Can I apply to a position in my home country?
Nationality alone does not determine eligibility. What matters for the mobility rule is where you lived or mainly worked or studied during the relevant period. Ask the host institution to check your circumstances.
What language skills are required?
Professional English is required for research and network activities. English level will be assessed during interviews.
Will a career break affect my application?
Career breaks related to childcare or illness will not be penalised. Explain any relevant gaps in your application so the selection team can understand your academic and research path.
